I was tricked by the photos online, thinking the rooms were clean and roomy. I was surprised the humid smell mixed with chlorine until I saw the small swimming pool located in the center of the first floor. But that was not it - mold was noticeable beneath the fresh paint of the room ceiling. The towels not only smelled moldy, but also shedded terriblly - it took a few minutes to remove the link off my skin. It was over 80 degrees that day.
The staff were not friendly, or enjoying what they were doing. They were not interested in offering information about the hotel's history, or interacting with guests. When I asked about breakfast, the front desk answered that "The hotel is owned by a private owner and would like people to pay" - is any hotel in the US not privately owned?!
When I leave feedback, I want to be fair. In this case, the only thing positive I can think of is the presure of the tap water. Be careful when you turn it on. :-)
