Before I book any resort, I read the reviews on here and reseach with the understading that there are always going to be differences in opinions and preferences. That being said, we do not recommend this resort. Here are our honest thoughts about the resort. We stayed at the all-adult side, El Beso.
Good-The room was spacious. The beach and lagoon were beautiful. The pools and lazy river are nice.
Needs Improvement-The food was below average. Do not have the steak at the steak house restaurant. Very disappointing. The best restaurants were the Italian and Mexican, but nothing was better than average.
Poor-Overall, the service was poor. I think we had good service about 2 times the entire trip, Generally, we felt the staff was not hospitable and were indifferent towards guests. For example, we went to lunch one day and asked 3 times if we could order. After an hour of not receiving our food, we walked out. Looking around the restaurant, a lot of people looked upset. It seemed very disorganized, and the employees did not know how to multi-task. There were only 2 waiters for the entire restaurant, and other employees were standing around doing nothing.
The first time we went to get towels, (on the day we arrived) the employee asked us to wait, and he used Google Translate on his phone. He then proceeded to tell us he was sick and hungry, and asked for money for food. This has NEVER happened to us before in the over 15 times we have stayed at an all-inclusive.
