I will never stay here again. The staff was unfriendly and the condition of the property was subpar. My family of 3 requested new towels on day 2. We received 1 hand towel and 1 medium sized towel on the 3rd day so we dried and used the same towels every day. Our lock stopped working while we were away from the room and we had to relocate to a new room in the middle of the night. The new room had two lamps burned out, a broken alarm clock, non-working phone and a broken lock on the bathroom door. The shower was full of hair and did not look as though it had been cleaned after the last guest. The cable was out 3/4 of the days we were there, so there was no tv to watch. The staff seemed bothered by our requests to fix things and make it right. Do yourself a favor and spend another $50 per night at a real hotel.

There's a lot of shuckin' and jivin' in the neighborhood late at night, especially at that Burger King parking lot. Hotel security is appropriate and was appreciated. I thought the staff was great.

Overalls the stay was good. We had a few issues that were addesssed by the staff. Front desk was helpful, housekeeping could use some improvement. We never had enough wash cloths and they accidentally threw away a personal item. It was resolved though. The hotel was in a convenient location on the trolley line, the rooms were clean, and we did not feel unsafe. It was definitely worth what we paid.

This is an older hotel that is beginning to show its age. The housekeeping was good but the doors into the bathroom needed painting or a good scrubbing. The staff were very nice especially the head of maintenance Dan who made a point of being helpful and friendly.

I’m starting my review with the disclaimer that I stayed here during Mardi Gras, so maybe things are better other times. That being said, I paid a premium for my stay and Mardi Gras or not, I expect my money’s worth. The room itself was good. Nice, comfortable bed, clean, and spacious. However, the bathroom was awkward- you can’t close the door without stepping into the shower. Also, the first two days I showered in lukewarm water because the “Hot” & “Cold” markings on the faucet are backwards. Also; they should move the microwave out of the closet because it’s awkwardly in the way of you being able to hang clothing!!! The staff was a bipolar mix. Half of the staff was as friendly and courteous as you could hope for. The other half looked at us with disdain. Again - maybe it was the craziness of Mardi Gras, but still - I’m paying a lot, so smile. The breakfast - which is advertised and costs $15 extra per day - was pathetic. A waffle maker. Some pastries. Coffee. Juice. With 4 hot plates of cooked items (bacon, biscuits, potatoes and eggs) which came out of the kitchen so slowly that the plates were emptied as soon as they came. This was not part with what other hotels offer for FREE - not worth $15 daily. In short; nice place - comfortable - awkward room - GREAT location - okay staff - disappointing breakfast. Maybe it’s a Mardi Gras thing, maybe not.

This location was excellent for walkability and access to the freeway. We love the lower garden, so weren’t surprised at a bit of an elevated cost to be in the area, especially during carnival season. However, it was apparent that the property is regularly abused by party goers. The biggest issue with our room was the door. It looked like someone tried to kick it in or chop it with an axe. There was a huge split in the door panel that had been sealed over with clear caulk but still allowed the light thru 😬 The bathroom door couldn’t close and the fixtures were all loose. Hope they get some repairs made before next carnival!

The bathroom was pretty in bad shape. The shower head was covered in lime scale so water went in all different directions, and the water temperature was very cold despite turning it all the way hot.

The location was good and the beds clean, but the faucet on the sink was broken (missing the cold water handle and would not completely shut off). We did not report it since it was Mardi Gras and likely no other rooms available to switch to and after the awful experience I had at check-in, I was not confident the manager would care or do anything to remedy the situation. The bathroom was also open to the room except for the toilet & shower, and there was no door or curtain for the shower such that water got all over the floor when taking a shower. Most of the staff was friendly, but the manager on duty was rude and unprofessional. Upon arrival for a very important weekend, and after a stressful journey, we were glad to finally arrive. However, upon arrival, I was not greeted with friendly or warm welcome, but "we're closed" when I approached the front desk. This was not a funny joke in the moment. I told her I did not appreciate the joke and rather than apologize, she was rude and refused to speak to me. She also sat there and did absolutely nothing to help her employees, despite complete chaos and confusion regarding parking. Then went out of her way to find a spot for another customer but nothing to help me. She gave a TERRIBLE first impression of your hotel.
