Carpet in room was soaked, trash was overflowing.
The carpet in my room was wet. Not damp. But wet. The entire room smelled musty and damp. Also, the trash in the kitchenette had not been dumped from the previous occupant and was overflowing.
When I went back to the front desk to tell them about the wet carpet, the front desk attendant, Andrew went to look at the room then came back and told me that the carpet was wet because it had just been steam cleaned.
I asked for a different room and was told there were none, so my options were to leave the hotel and hope to find another room on short notice or keep the room with the wet carpet.
I asked if someone could come empty the trash as well, and was told they would. No one ever did. I ended up taking out the trash myself.
I discovered later that evening that the a/c unit in the room was leaking, and dripping onto the carpet. That was why the carpet was soaked. The line Andrew gave me about steam cleaning the carpet was a lie.
I told Andrew about the leaking a/c unit the next morning when I saw him. No one at the hotel ever came to check it out, repair it or offer to switch rooms or try to mitigate the inconveniences.
Pretty disappointing stay overall.
