Do NOT trust a direct call to this property

Property was run down. Floors were dirty, elevator floor had gaps in the flooring. Heavy deodorizer smell thru out. Bathtub was cracked and repaired, gross, we even had kick board on the wall off for about 2 feet on one wall. You had to request to have your room cleaned, which was never mentioned at check in. We were promised a walk in shower, shower chair and a hair dryer. We got the hair dryer but no other accommodation and were told we should have reserved an ADA room. Something never mentioned when we called the hotel directly twice, prior to our arrival. They handed us a box with the shower chair I assembled, then we found out parts were missing and we should not have been given it. We had to go out and buy a shower chair ourselves to make it useful for the week we were there. Our room number didn’t exist on the sign, do you see #201? They did credit us $100 for our trouble at check out but the experience still stings.

Had a very good stay. One breakfast day didn't have any eggs and I am protein based diet only but it certainly was not their fault! Truck never showed up to deliver. Other than that all was great!

The stay was just ok, for the money. Was told we had pay extra for airport and other things that was not mentioned during booking the reservation. The room did not have a working phone, the t.v. kept going and off of service, the front desk clerk said she would tell the maintenance man the next day, but still nothing. Breakfast looked like it would have been good, but did not get to eat due to them not having enough prepared for everyone.

Horrible place. Don't stay here!!!

I took one look at the room, turned around and walked out. No functional TV (corroded batteries in the remote), it had a horrible smell, was so dirty it made my skin crawl. If I could give a negative I would. I also saw others soing the same thing. They had the gaul to tell.me they were going to charge me because I did not cancel by the deadline.

Excellent staff, tired looking hotel.

The hotel looks a bit tired. Chairs in the lobby are worn, the carpet in my room was worn and the paint job in the bathroom was not great. There was a huge drip on the tile. Also, the bathroom door handles were old and hard to work. And there was no rail for the shower glass on the right side, so it swung back and forth if you touched it. The positive is the bed was very clean and comfortable. And I met one of your managers, Angelique, who took the time to walk me to a take-out restaurant and talk to me while we were waiting for my order. Deb came by for her dinner as well, and was also very kind. I have never had anyone do that for me before. Even the man who checked us in--I didn't get his name--was helpful, polite and kind. Excellent staff.

Overall comfortable stay - value for the dollar

Staff was very friendly and very accommodating. Some of the common areas could stand some floor cleaning. One night we had noisy neighbors till 3:00 am. Overall comfortable stay.

Gave us the room directly across from housekeeping/laundry room so it was a little loud at times. Toilet did not flush well and room was rather warm and had to have ac turned way down. Breakfast was good and bed comfortable.

Cleanest rooms Ever!!

When we walked in the room it smelt pure, the cleanest scent I’ve ever smelt in my life i instantly felt a sigh of relief. This is my second stay here within 3 years! I gotta come back to Ncharleston in April and maybe this is where we’ll stay!!!

Christmas tree

The entire building smells like fake Christmas tree scent likely to cover up some old linger smoking type smell or something. I was given a conjoining room and asked to be changed to one that doesn’t do that but they gave me another room that conjoined. Otherwise I was barely there so it was fine for what it was. In and out to sleep.

Wingate not true

Well this was my second stay at the wingate. The first stay was really incredible but this second stay they were trying to tap on a $200 deposit which wasn't even mentioned the first time that I stayed there. And then they dropped it to $100 deposit which I was told that if paid with my credit card that I would receive my $100 deposit money back with in 24 hours which has also been a lye. Just beware is all i can tell you.
