Perfect for airport overnight

Everything was very clean and the breakfast options and times offered exceeded expectations! I would have liked more transparency about the shared bathroom but overall everything was just was we needed as a last night stay before our early airport departure.

Edullinen perusmajoitus Keflavikissa kävelymatkan päässä lentokentästä. Jaetut kylpyhuone-ja wc-tilat, omatoimiaamiainen, toimivat varsin mukavasti, kaikki tarpeellinen löytyi. Lentokenttäkuljetusten aikataulu oli itselle hiukan jäykkä kun kuljetukset vartin matkalle olivat klo 7.40 ja klo 9. Lennon siirtyessä jouduttiin heräämään kovin aikaisin ja istumaan sitten lentokentällä useampi tunti....

A Mixed Bag

People should know that this is a "hostel", not a hotel. Baths are down the hall and may be occupied when needed. Shower stalls were very tight and the floor slippery when wet. The fine print" was not disclosed until after the booking was made. Transport to/from the airport (several miles) cost over $40.00 if the host is not available. Communication with the host was awlful. Phone calls and emails were not responded to. No check-in info was received from host until the day before our arrival. Since our plane arrived late in the day, we literally didn't know how access our room until the day before our arrival. The basic "buffet breakfast was pretty sparse. On one day there was no bread left to make toast. Once there, the experience got much better. the host was helpful with advice, etc. The return ride to the airport was appreciated and saved us $40.

Close to the airport with simple breakfast

We liked the room for the one night we stayed in it. Beds were not really comfortable (too soft for me) and i left with a back ache. The breakfast is nice and complete and there is a big shared bathroom which is clean. The bedroom smelled a bit stuffy

Staff helpful ,location nearest airport ,shuttle transfer provided.Simple breakfast start at 3am. We can see the northern lights infront of guesthouse when we stayed . Highly recommended

Since it is a guesthouse you don't really have much contact with anyone than at check-in. When I was booking a room I wanted a reasonable priced room that made me feel like I was in Iceland. It was great place to stay. The breakfast was 3 AM-10AM breakfast hours and it was self service. Of course that meant that you has to make it from the options that they offered and clean up after yourself which was fine and most people did. There was no daily housekeeping which was fine for no longer then we were there. I would like to go back to Iceland again. I would definitely stay here again.

Disappointing stay, overpriced dumpy room

what a dump! extremely small room, didn't feel clean, threadbare sheets. very much like a dorm room. nowhere to put clothes. breakfast was serve yourself bread and cheese from a fridge. overpriced, even for Iceland. the only plus was free transport to and from the airport. and a working television. otherwise ugh.

Avoid if you can

Walls paper thin, mattress and sheets paper thin, bathroom in state of disrepair. Pay the bit extra to go somewhere where you will actually be able to sleep

The manager refused to pick us up at the airport saying our flight was too late (23:40). The next day refused to give us a ride to airport @ 9AM. As cell phone reception was marginal we were stranded for 90 minutes. Finally a helpful cleaning staff was able to call a taxi.. So we went way over budget paying for a taxi. I suggest NOT staying here unless you have a car rental.

Gute einfache Unterkunft in Flughafennähe

Ich habe diese Unterkunft für die erste Nacht auf Island nach später Ankunft am Flughafen gebucht. Dafür fand ich sie ideal. Wir konnten nach Mitternacht einchecken und das Zimmer war gut temperiert (schön warm). Am Morgen gab es ein einfaches, aber für uns völlig ausreichendes Frühstück als Selbstbedienung. Die sanitären Anlagen fand ich sehr sauber.

Total lack of empathy and cordiality

I made a reservation for this accommodation and unfortunately I had to postpone my trip because my fiancée's brother, who was going to travel with me, discovered a brain tumor. My fiancée asked to postpone the trip until he had surgery to remove the tumor and she felt comfortable traveling. I tried to contact the accommodation to ask for a refund if possible and they denied it. I tried more than once to ask them to allow us to reschedule the accommodation for 2025 and they were not kind enough to respond. They had nothing to lose by accepting our request to reschedule the date, and yet they chose to completely ignore us.
