Not so great!

Our stay at Days Inn Mackinaw City was not as expected. My sisters and I (all senior citizens) found the whole area dark and hard to maneuver. We had an upper floor room. The outside stairway light was out, and it was very hard to see the steps and climb, with or without a suitcase. The parking lot was also dark; no outside lighting. Even the sign for Days Inn was out. We passed it twice, before realizing where it was. The room was not impressive either. The door lock was broken and shaky. (We put things in front of the door at night.) There were small holes in the walls and peeling wallpaper. We lost power for a minute or so and tried calling the front desk. The phone did not work. They said they had a continental breakfast, but that was just individually wrapped, unappetizing blueberry muffins with coffee. No decaf. And, hot chocolate packets with no hot water. All and all, not a great place to stay. Nothing like the advertisement. Don't let the pictures fool you.

Office closed when we arrived had to go to the hotel next door to check in. Went to room lights that were plug in kights were not pluged in, no towels in the roor had to go to the hotel next door to get towels. No luggage stands to place luggage.

Horrible

Room was stuck in the 70's. No very clean, especially the bathroom light. Dust has been growing and half hanging, ready to fall. The wallpaper by the sink was wrinkled and not wanting to stay on wall. Light fixture by sink, either had old paint or something stuck on it. Then, if we needed something, we had to go 2 hotels down from where we were. Our lobby was closed.....OMG..... The only good thing was the housekeeper. She was the only person we saw, everyday. If you want people to stay, update the rooms.

The property is very neglected. It claims to include breakfast, but that's not true. The only things included are pre-packaged muffins and coffee in the lobby. My family and I stayed for 2 nights, and our room wasn't cleaned. The air conditioning doesn't work and makes a horrible noise, so we had to sleep with the window open. The hotel overall is dirty and poorly maintained.

The hotel was quite and in a good location if you want to see all of mackinaw city. It is a little bit of walk to get to town, but they have shops and restaurants along the way to view. The room was spacious and clean. It is a little older of a hotel, but they are working on upgrading the rooms. Breakfast was a small muffin, with the option of coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

Old and run down! The pool and hot tub were not connected to the motel and it was disgusting and dirty! Things floating in them. Rooms old. Carpet disgusting. I will never stay here again. Rooms were cold. Air leaked right thru the door as there was a space between jam and door. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Reasonably priced compared to surrounding motels. Lake front view was looking at trees, then a huge parking lot, then the water. Had to use a hotel next store Beach are, but that was disclosed and worked out fine. Despite these few short comings, the hotel was very nice and comfortable at their price point. The facility is showing its age and needs some serious maintenance attention.

Darn, no Lounge chair!!!

We were very happy with the property and the room. the only thing I was disappointed with. in the picture of our room was a lounge chair, which was one deciding facture, and we did not have one. only had a table and two chairs.

No breakfast

Well, we were expecting breakfast because it said serving breakfast but all they serve was muffins and coffee no eggs or bacon or sausage pancakes like we normally would get it a hotel. If they’re not gonna serve breakfast, then they should bring their rate down. They said since Covid they don’t serve, but Covid is over with so they should go back to serving breakfast because some people just eat breakfast and go on the road and don’t eat until dinner because the breakfast ties you over all day. So now we have an extra expense to buy breakfast because people just don’t want muffins for breakfast and I don’t even drink coffee.
