Comfortable, convenient, but needs some updates!

Overall things were good. It is starting to show some wear and tear in areas. Though it is clean, the appearance, be it lighting or decor or smell or whatever it comes across that it needs a little more TLC. Though it was clean and comfortable and this is my third time to stay here, if it remains in the condition it is today I may consider looking elsewhere. It was very convenient for my needs and that was a big plus.

Will not be back.

First off when I arrived the hotel spelled so bad! Everywhere, in the hallways, the lobby, the rooms, elevator was a horrible smell!! I literally held my breath most of the time and wanted to get a refund and go to another hotel but we arrived late from traveling and I didn't want to go through all of that but I will NOT be back! I looked at reviews and I was expecting way better! This hotel the floors were DISGUSTING, the room floors are even disgusting and the hallways almost smelt like mold and mildew and hot and stuffy! I'm not sure what's going on in here but this is not it! In my room the toilet was not clean. Just overall very upset with how everything was there.

Needs updating, nice staff.

Mattresses were full size, base was bigger. Husband stumped his toes a few times. Someone must have locked their dog in the bathroom because door was chewed out. Needs updating. Hope animals are not being left in that small of a bathroom: area is about a 1.5’ X 1’ of tile floor.

Would stay here again

Overall, not a bad stay. Room was clean, front desk staff was friendly, check in was quick and easy. Pet Friendly hotel so there was a dog barking constantly in the room across from us, but that isn't really the hotels' fault.

Not as Pictured

This is a very old La Quinta. The description that it has been remodeled is very deceiving. The lobby and entrance make it seem like it has been remodeled, but that is where the remodel ends. The rest was all cosmetic. They just repainted and removed carpet. The ceilings were extremely low as in maybe 6 foot in the bathroom. We have stayed in many other LaQuintas and had a great experience. This is not one that we will return to and will choose to pay extra for a better experience.

While the room was very quiet and the hotel was in a clean condition I really don’t appreciate finding a mason jar and a large sandwich bag full of marijuana in one of the draws. As funny as it sounds. I am traveling through from state to state and Iowa has a no tolerance for said substance. If I lived here I just would have passed it on to a friend but it’s not worth the risk. The desk clerk looked at it and said what is this and the best he could do is change my room. Ever ever had I been so disappointed as I would have thought the rooms should have been cleaned and everything should have been opened and checked. Other than that the new room smelled clean and it was clean
