Location is this hotel’s main selling point. I knew it wouldn’t be the best hotel, but I was still disappointed. In our specific case, our flight was canceled, and we were going to arrive a day later. I called the hotel to let them know, and they said the room would be ready for us as soon as we arrived the morning after our scheduled arrival.
When we finally arrived, tired and 12 hours late, having been awake since 3:30 a.m., they informed us that the room wasn’t ready. I asked how that could be, since we were supposed to arrive the day before and they had promised to have the room ready. The explanation was that they had delayed cleaning because they knew we would be arriving late. They offered us an upgraded room (which required even more waiting time) and breakfast, but that didn’t solve the immediate problem—we just wanted to get an hour or two of sleep so we could then enjoy our vacation.
I knew the quality wouldn’t be top-notch, but no matter how many stars a hotel has, certain things just have to work, like check-in. The hotel is in poor condition but the location is excellent.
