It was centrally located to Bourbon St, clean and safe but otherwise, very disappointing. Although Hotels.com advertises that all fees are included, the price of our room increased by $80 a night upon check in due to a $55 daily car fee as well as a $25 per night “resort fee”. Although the pictures show luxurious, updated rooms, our more expensive balcony room was tiny, uncomfortable, sparsely decorated and in bad need of an update. The bed was so old that my son and I kept rolling together in the middle.
I rarely leave negative reviews but I’d avoid the Royal Sonesta in New Orleans. We ended up moving to a newer hotel about a half mile away that was the same price before the fees and extremely luxurious and comfortable.
