If you’re thinking about staying at the DoubleTree — don’t. I prepaid for my room through Hotels.com, thinking everything was squared away. When I checked in, they suddenly slapped me with a $200 incidental charge. When I questioned it, the front desk employee casually said, “Oh yeah, it’s actually only $50,” and then charged me an additional $50 — on top of the $200.
Now I’ve got a $200 charge still pending on my bank account, no correction, no explanation, and no accountability.
I asked three different employees about their incidental policy and got three different answers. No one knew what the actual charge was supposed to be — complete chaos.
To top it off, when I checked out at 3:00 AM and asked for a printed receipt, I was told they “couldn’t provide one because I booked through Hotels.com.” That’s just a flat-out lie — and an excuse to avoid giving any transparency. Apparently the new policy is if you book thru a 3rd party they are not able to print your itemized receipt, FYI
I tried contacting the hotel manager took 3 days to respond and then tells me he doesn’t see the charge anywhere even though it’s still on my account!
This place operates like a scam. Shady billing practices, conflicting information, and zero customer service. Travelers beware: if you don’t want to fight mystery charges and get ghosted by hotel staff, stay somewhere else. I’ll never book here again — and you shouldn’t either.
I’m out $200 don’t let it happen to you, stay somewhere else!
