Really nice accommodation, lovely location. Can’t complain in any respect. Evening dinner was not quite as enjoyable as l had hoped because the pie was a little too rich for me, though I’m sure it would be absolutely fine for other people. I would say this accommodation is “very good” but unfortunately the rating system jumps from “good” to “excellent”, with no option in between. I would definitely stay again.

Thoroughly enjoyed staying here. My stay was only one night, but it was exactly as I imagined a stay at an English Inn would be. The Tavern reminded me of The Holiday with its cozy atmosphere. Bed was comfy and the room was spacious. Shower was a little tight but workable. Otherwise, I will be coming back here again for longer. About a 10 minute or less deive to Blackwater Arboretum and Tall Trees Trail in New Forest Park. And a short drive to Lyndhurst, which is a beautiful village. Good food as well.

The hotel was charming; the staff were friendly; the food was excellent; the room was very comfortable, despite the very hot weather - the fan was provide to assist with this. Lovely location in the New Forest. We had thought that the hotel photo with a horse in the carpark was a gimmick, until a horse came strolling past while we were packing up the car!

Kleine maar zeer slim en gezellig ingerichte kamer met alles wat je nodig hebt. Zeer vriendelijk en gastvrij personeel, en heerlijk eten! Voor het eerst een traditionele steak&ale pie gegeten, superlekker. Gezellige atmosfeer en mooi gelegen in de New Forest.

A peaceful location, favoured by dog walkers, ramblers and cyclists to the New Forest. Proper pub with modern bedrooms reached via steep stairs. Wi-Fi worked well.

Pros: Good location. Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Spotless room with nice refreshments. Cons: Parking very limited. Roller blind missing from glass room door, so not very private. Room was smaller than expected and very hot despite fan provided. Soap in bathroom would be nice.

Weekend away for my husbands birthday. we had a quirky room over looking the beer garden. unfortunately it was soooo hot we couldn’t sleep and the two fans provided didn’t touch it.. would be a good idea to have a fridge in the rooms as the bottles of water in the room where warm.. the food was ok…

Beautiful spotless room, really friendly and welcoming staff and super easy check in and out experience. We had dinner and breakfast in the bar area of the inn and it was prompt and delicious!! Gorgeous walks in the surrounding area as well, we will most definitely be returning here in the future!
