Let's start with the positives. Service at the Leela is always exceptional, and in this, the Leela Mumbai is no exception. Everyone from the front desk to the concierge to the customer service staff to the restaurant staff was engaged, intelligent, kind, and eager to help - a real pleasure and by far the most consistent and memorable thing about staying at the Leela. We had several maintenance issues with our rooms and the staff moved quickly, collaboratively and smartly to solve the problem and make it up to us with some additional treats and services which were very much appreciated.
Breakfast is a highlight - both food and service are top-notch, especially if you can score one of the window seats looking out over the greenery outside.
It has to be said, however, that the property itself is a little tired and in need of a full renovation to dispel the air of faded glory from its worn carpets, 80s decor, run-down room furniture and general mustiness - a far cry from the standards set by Leela’s Palace hotels, which are truly among the best in the world.
All in all a great experience thanks to exceptional staff - despite the shortcomings of the property itself.
