Don’t overlook Red Lion!

I travel to the central Oregon coast from New England 2-4 time per year with my service dog. Always arrive late in evening and return early in morning so break up the trip with an overnight stay. Red Lion has been my go to for the past nine years of travel to PDX. Reception is always welcoming, welcome of my dog is respectful and appreciated, location feels safe, rooms have been clean and comfortable and shuttle service to/from airport a plus. No restaurant on site but has a convenience shop with snacks and microwaveable meals. Great for a brief stay.

The Halls of Mary Jane

There is no pool or hot tub so not ideal for families. The room was nice, although, according to the staff, the tub/shower combo is really only a shower in all of the rooms. So, if baths are your thing, sorry not here.The bed was very comfortable and the staff was helpful in scheduling the shuttle.

Ok but could use a refresh!

The hotel front desk staff was friendly and our room did seem clean. The rooms really could use some updating. Most everything seemed just worn out and the bed was on the hard side. It was a quick overnight stay near the airport, for that it was ok, but would look for something lease next time.

Checkin was horrid. Front desk gave me key to a room that wasn't mine. Checkin took almost 20/30 minutes. I walked up to my room 222 and there was a do not disturb sign and someone inside my assigned room. Front desk didn't seem to care and made the mistake. Pretty unacceptable service.

Comfortable

Older hotel, no elevator so you have to carrier your luggage to the second floor. The staff was nice, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. No continental breakfast but they do have some microwavable meals for purchase. No frill hotel. Nice for the price. I do want to give kudos to Gaya she went above and beyond to help me this morning. She really was so very nice.

The signage on the front of the hotel was minimal, so it was confusing to figre out where the hotel was when a van from another hotel was parked right in front.. otherwise the stay was good; spacious, clean rooms, a wide light hallway and clean exercise room.

Before flight

Stayed here for 1 night before our international flight. We weren’t able to sleep well at night because we were on the main level in the back and people coming and going slamming the door to get to outside. Next time I would ask for a different section. Free shuttle to airport was fast and easy!

Not the place for us.

Must validate your gate ticket if you leave. They didnt tell us and we had cars begind us. Made a reservation for extended parking then when we arrived they said no we cant do that but can park next door for $13.75 per day. No breakfast and $10 fee to park overnight. For sure we will not stay here again.
