I booked a downstairs room because I have a handicap and it’s easier for me . but when I arrived. I was told that there was no room of the type I booked on the ground floor unless I want to pay $30 extra for each night. They should have given me the room at the price I booked. The handicap parking was a great distance from my room. At no time did anyone offer me any help with my bags or the luggage cart, the person that checked me in had no concern for my well-being whatsoever, definitely was not hospitable, and I don’t think belongs in the hospitality industry.I’ve stayed in many hotels and the attitude of the employees at the front desk has always been helpful and gracious, however, the front desk at the Doubletree by Hilton had no concern and offered no help for me to get my bags to my room, which was a good distance away, and my handicap parking space was also very far away from my room . there were many parking spaces close to the lobby and none of them are handicap access..
Im not used to being treated that way.by anyone in particular somebody in the hospitality industry., particularly from someone in the hospitality industry.
I think your hotel also needs to be more handicap friendly
