Review of Antigonish Victoria Inn – Room 9, 1-Bedroom Suite
We stayed in Room 9 (1-bedroom suite) for three nights and, unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Check-in was straightforward, though we were required to prepay for the entire stay, which felt a bit rigid.
The suite itself was quite dated. The furniture was in poor condition — visibly worn and uncomfortable. The kitchen was oddly stocked: five knives, but no spoons, forks, bowls, plates, or mugs. We had to walk over to the dining area in the main building to grab basic supplies ourselves, as no one was available at the front desk to assist.
Housekeeping was minimal. During our stay, we didn’t receive any room service — only a towel swap. Cleanliness was another major issue. There were earwigs in both the kitchen and shower. A few dead ones were already on the kitchen floor when we arrived — and were still there when we checked out.
Overall, the room was poorly maintained and lacking in basic amenities and cleanliness. It’s not a place we’d return to or recommend unless serious improvements are made.
