This place is an absolute gem, punching well above its 2-star rating.
Miki and Alberto are delightful and super-attentive. The rooms are relatively compact and simple, but spotlessly clean and have everything you need. The location overlooking the valley at the front, or church square at the back, all within a stone’s throw of the old town is just fantastic.
The freshly home-cooked breakfast served on the terrace is just wonderful. The ‘honesty bar’ for the well-stocked fridge and dining room probably tells you everything you need to know about the vibe of this fantastic little boutique hotel.
The sun terrace on the roof (with the sauna) is a real sun trap and the hotel has lots of local artworks and produce on display and for sale.
The coastal part of the town, a short drive from the hotel is typical of most Spanish resorts but the old town does feel really quite traditional. British visitors were in the minority during our short stay, but if the Spaniards choose it as a holiday destination, that would suggest it’s well worth visiting. Plenty of cafés, restaurants and bars, and amazing views all around.
