This was my second stay here and while I love the accessible location, the quality and value has declined. On my first night I noticed the flooring bulged in certain places and when I would walk the water would seep out from under the flooring. Moxy sent an engineer to promptly to fix this by taking off the flooring and resealing but it seemed to be just a short-term solution. In hindsight I should have asked to change rooms but I had been so exhausted from traveling all day and wanted to sleep. And don’t expect to sleep well on Friday and Saturday nights, you will be woken up at 3-4am by people loitering after Webster Hall concert. If sleep is critical for you, request for a room facing away.
For the price there are barely any amenities provided. No closet, just 3 clothing hangers and bunch of wall knobs. Not even complimentary water or mini fridge. You can get water and ice from the 2nd floor fitness center, bring a water bottle as the cups they provide are like the ones at the dentist for rinsing.
Tip: be careful with using the credit for the $20 destination fee at the cafe, there is an added 15% service charge plus tax. The cafe offerings are way overpriced so you can easily overspend. East Village has famous bakeries and cafes, personally I rather get better pastries and coffee outside the hotel. Not sure if I would return, the first time was fun to experience but I found the hotel more kitschy than hip this time.
