Won’t stay here again

At about 5:30pm on the day of check in, a lady from the hotel called me to confirm that I was still coming. I told her that I was on my way but coming from 4.5 hours away. She said they wanted to confirm I was coming because they had a lot of people in town for the concert. I informed her that I was also coming for the concert & would be there later this evening. Mind you, check in goes til midnight so I had plenty of time to get there. She seemed slightly annoyed that I hadn’t arrived yet & I was honestly worried they were going to give my room away. Upon check in, the gentleman at the front desk was nice enough to let us choose which floor we wanted to be on. Upon inspection of our room we discovered our shower did not work. We went to the front desk & the gentleman said that maintenance would be in at about 9:30am the next day. He added our name to the list for maintenance & told me to remind the front desk in the morning that our room needed maintenance. He also offered a discounted rate due to the inconvenience of the shower not working. The next morning I went to the front desk to remind staff & the lady there seemed inconvenienced by the fact that I was talking to her. We left the hotel around 11:30am that morning and didn’t return til 2am. Upon return, we got to our room & realized the was door cracked open. Maintenance came in at some point and fixed the shower but never ensured that the door was fully closed when they walked out. Luckily nothing was stolen.

We have stayed at this hotel regularly many times a year for the past 20 years or so. We have tried all the hotels in the area & keep coming back to them. Thr gentleman at the front desk always remembers us. Everyone struggled fue to covid but they are coming back around.

Still a Good Place, but Quality has Dropped

I stayed here last year and thought this was a great deal if you want an inexpensive place to visit Cleveland or Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It still is, but the property is deteriorating. My room had a funny smell and the furniture was covered in nicks and divots. The faucet in the shower worked but was so loose I could have pulled it out of the wall if I wanted. The tub was also not that clean.

Bad behaving guest

The hotel and staff, food options and bed comfort were very nice. The room was nice. No fridge and microwave was not great. BIG problem was other guests…up at 1:00 in the morning till 2:30 am with young people running around in the hallways and slamming doors, and talking loudly. I had to physically get up from bed and go to the front desk. It was awful and I didn’t get any rest!!!

Overall acceptable stay.

Everything was above average for a mid price hotel stay. The self serve hot breakfast was very good. All areas of the hotel were clean, although some areas showed a lot of wear. The bathroom had some old grout in the shower area and parts of the window coverings were torn, so some maintenance is required. The carpet and room furnishings were very clean. The male check-in clerk was especially nice, but my other encounters with the staff made me feel as if I was bothering them with a question.

OK for a single guy passing thru on a short visit

Pool out of service (although they called a day before to inform). 16-year-old TV with broken remote control, change channels manually. Low water pressure. Bathroom fan linked to bathroon light. Internet good. AC good.
