The areas of the hotel that we visited were well decorated and appeared clean. The grapefruit/orange infused water was a lovely touch in the lobby. Staff was welcoming at check in. Our room decor was updated and clean. However, the next day, after being out of the room all day though mid evening, we were looking forward to returning to a room with a made bed, fresh towels, and emptied trash. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. When I called the front desk, I was informed that we needed to request that service. Had we been told this upon check-in or if there had been any literature in the room explaining this, we would have requested it. They did send someone from housekeeping, who was very nice, with fresh towels and she emptied the trash. I did mention how frustrating this situation was to the manager on duty upon checkout, suggesting that signage in the room and on the lobby counter would have been helpful. She said that we should have been told at check-in. We were not. If we decide to return, we will definitely be requesting room cleaning service at check-in.
