Cockroach siting

Before checking in, I needed to use the restroom outside of the indoor pool. The toilet paper dispenser was broken, the hand dryer barely worked and no paper towels to dry my hands. Check in went smoothly but we were only picking up our key. Upon return to actually enter the room at 12:30am, I made it a few steps into the room when my husband turned on the lights. Immediately I saw a bug on the wall. Closer inspection, it was indeed a German cockroach and it skittered behind the headboard. We left. Requested a cancellation and refund. Still haven’t received a cancellation confirmation email. The charge for the room is still pending in our credit card - here is to hoping for the best

Good hotel location but could use some improvement

Upon getting into the room, we found bugs in the window seal and in the bathroom, when we went and told the man at the counter, (he had a French accent) he did explain to us that the bugs were native to Pennsylvania, they stayed in or around Ash trees in warm months but came inside during the cold months. For whatever reason when the maid service would come in, we would get three washcloths and towels, even though there was four of us in the room. We would just go down to the front desk and ask for more. Breakfast consisted of waffles you could make, one flavor of yogurt, a few pieces of fruit and some danishes. The area was safe at night, we never felt like we or our car were in danger, especially at night. Lots of shopping, restaurants, and sightseeing to be done in the immediate area. The Baymont by Wyndham in Gatlinburg, TN and Kentucky spoiled us because there you would get a full breakfast with eggs, bacon or sausage, oatmeal, waffles and other stuff. Not in Gettysburg, although there was adequate room. All in all, it was a great getaway, we had fun and made good memories. But there is room for improvement.

We had no water in shower and only cold in sink. Tried to get the lady at desk to compensates us she wouldnt call management or maintainance .asked for key to open room and she said no one ihas water. Whayever. Not true. Finally at 9. She gave usva key to another room to take a shower. I feel we need compensated . Janice

Not happy

This was not a very pleasant stay. First of all, I accidentally got double booked, since the first time I made reservations with Expedia, I was told it didn't go thru, so I booked again, shortening my reservation from Friday thru Sunday to Friday, Saturday, leaving Sunday AM. The man at the front desk really wasn't very helpful, telling me he couldn't do anything about the double booking, I would have to deal with Expedia. Of course on a Friday evening, I got no help from Expedia. When I returned home, between Expedia and the hotel, I was charged and extra $103.60 for the booking on Friday, rather than the $62.30 I would have been charged for the third night if we had stayed. In the meantime, the elevator quit working-now I know it is only a two story building, and usually this would be no problem, but for me it was as I am having issues with my left foot tendons. Breakfast was unacceptable, with powdered eggs, cheap sausage, and bad coffee. I have always been pleased with Wyndham properties before, but I will think twice before booking one again.

Always stay here when in Gettysburg, Pa. Place is always clean, safe & comfortable. Staff are always friendly & helpful. Only negative, knob on heat lamp in shower was missing. Otherwise everything was excellent.

Facility needs upgrades. The staff shines here!

While the staff was amazing and tended to our every need, the facility was in disrepair poorly maintained. The carpets were stained and discolored, the room was musty and the fan to the air conditioning unit would only stay on while the temperature stayed above 65°. So no the mustiness lingered. The bathtub floor was tapered in such a way that it was difficult to stand in it. The pool was grimy with chipped paint and black flecks and slime floating in the water. The complementary breakfast was varied and well kept. Choices were: scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, Belgian waffles, assorted pastries, cold cereal, fruit, juices, and yogurts. The breakfast dining room was bright and well kept.
