I grew up in Northern California and was fortunate to live fairly close to Tahoe. Northstar is one of my favorite places. The view from the top on a nice sunny day is amazing. There is also a nice village at the bottom of the mountain with tons of shops and restaurants.

Fire pits invite you to kick back with hot chocolate while watching the sunset paint Tahoe's mountains. Upscale restaurants serve farm-to-table cuisine that tastes even better after a day outdoors. Luxury condos and boutique hotels offer cozy fireplaces and mountain views, though they command premium prices. The heated walkways make exploring this compact village a breeze, even in your snow boots.
