First, the good!
Bed was very comfortable, room decor was nice, internet worked well, and the front desk staff were extremely helpful. The location across from Lincoln Center is fantastic—great food and entertainment nearby. The lobby is a lovely place to meet or read, and the rooftop bar is wonderful (the pool is tiny and has very few lounge chairs, so don’t expect much there).
Now, the not-so-good…
The hallway was so dark it made me uncomfortable. My room was about the size of a walk-in closet—no dresser, no suitcase stand, no room for a chair at the desk. I, literally, lived out of my suitcase on the narrow wall-desk. I can’t imagine two people staying in there comfortably.
At check-in, I was given a room with a broken air conditioner (in August!). Maintenance took one look at the ancient unit and said the front desk would call me. Clearly, they knew it was broken—so why assign it? I was moved to a similar room that had working A/C but no safe (in NYC!). When I asked, they offered to send up a portable safe, which, at least, made me laugh.
Bottom line:
There’s a lot to like here—friendly staff, great location, comfortable bed—but the room size and a few odd issues made it hard to fully enjoy my stay. I’m not sure I could do another trip in such a tiny space.
