The rooms were spacious and clean. Housekeeping came daily to switch out towels, stock coffee, empty garbage, and make beds, if needed. The rooms are equipped with a fridge, keurig coffee maker, a safe and ample storage (closet area, 3 drawer dresser, desk/vanity, open area at end of bed for suitcases, shoes, etc).

This hotel is very big and very nice. The parking is a terrible situation and unsafe. When you rent a car make sure to get full coverage. When you parks they give you 3 inches on each side of your lucky. You must let your passenger out first then try to squeeze in the spot. One or two doors will receive dings from car doors that parked next to you.

Better Than Expected

I have to say that this hotel’s website doesn’t do the hotel justice. We booked expecting a nice, lower-priced hotel that would mainly be a place to sleep between adventures. What we got was a wonderful hotel with a very friendly and accommodating staff. The only negative experience we had was no fault of the hotel; someone stole our water bottles when we left them unattended on the beach. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it.

Great stay on Kauai!

Loved this hotel, right on the beach. It was amazing to be able to wake up and walk into the ocean within 5 minutes. The attached Lava Lava Beach Club restaurant was really nice too.

What a gem!

Loved this hotel and our overall experience with staff and property. Upon check in, staff member Novella was very helpful. She took the time to tell us all about the hotel amenities and about the island since it was our first time visiting Kauai. Found out that we had both lived in same town in California too! She gave us our complimentary bottle of wine, which was a nice bonus for being a good hotel reward member! The hotel property was nicely manicured and loved that it was right on the beach! The pools areas and grassy areas were all kept up very well and we enjoyed the nightly live music playing at the bar while we lounged on the beach. The hotel restaurant Lava Lava was very good. We had dinner and breakfast there and both meals were very good with friendly service. Our room was very comfy and had everything we needed, and housekeeping kept it very clean and tidy each day. Location was perfect— right next to a shopping center that had everything we needed. Only issue we had was in the self parking lot cause all the spaces are extremely narrow and there is not even enough room to open car door to get out properly. Because of this, Our rental car was hit and bumper torn off on our 2nd night and no one even left a note! Needless to say, we used the valet rest of our visit so not to incur further damage! The valet is free, except for tipping. Other than that, we absolutely loved everything about this hotel!

This is the place to be!

Very fun place with a lot of character. Just wished we stayed longer. It was a quick 3 night stay. Definitely coming back. Great bar, restaurant and very friendly staff too.

Nicely updated room. Great location. Walkable to shopping and food at Coconut Mall next door. Only issue is parking. Not enough and they do have free valet but can be a hassle if they’re busy.

Overpriced hotel

Hot water temperature was extremely variable. Sometime scalding, sometimes cool. On 3 of 7 nights could not get even a warm shower. On 3 other nights could up and down regulated the intermittantly scalding water to get an annoying, but warm shower. Only 1 of 7 nights did I get a shower you expect at $300 per night hotel. Parking also problematic. Not enough spaces.

We very much enjoyed our stay and the facilities at the Kauai Shores Hotel and would happily rebook here without a second thought! It was convenient to restaurants, shops and many activities. Being centrally located on the island made it easy ( with a car) to reach key points of interest on the island. The staff was outstanding at meeting our needs and requests and the resort in general was well maintained and clean. The only issue that we encountered was the parking. The spaces allocated to self parking were very narrow and we frequently found that guests needed to use 2 spaces to accommodate their vehicles or found themselves in such tight spaces that it was nearly impossible to get in or out of their cars. Valet parking resolved the parking issue, but wasn't convenient if plans entailed frequent trips to/from the resort. The beachfront allowed for great ocean swimming and relaxing on site.

This is our second time staying here with friends. VIP got us a free bottle of wine. While I appreciate that, I had to choose that type of room. It is quaint, has everything you need on the premises, close to the airport- a fantastic place if you're getting in late and/or multiple people are coming in at different times. This will continue to be our meet up place as long as the price stays fair. BONUS morning yoga on the beach!

Hidden Gem

This is a hidden gem of a hotel! The beach was very easy to get to. And the on-site restaurant is amazing! The bathrooms were squeaky clean and well designed. The beds were top-notch.
