We had a great time and the hotel staff is super friendly Beautiful grounds comfortable bed and a quiet room Next trip to Hilo we will be back Breakfast was above expectations and the fresh fruit brought in by the staff for guest was wonderful

Hilo Seaside is a quaint hotel -- I believe it's the only hotel on the island owned by a local, not a corporation. Staff were very nice. The lobby was clean and lovely. The garden was beautiful. The koa pond was a nice touch. It's walking distance from the ocean. But we had a room in the back part of the hotel that was not as nice. A little worn out and run down. Room was clean but nothing special. Free breakfast was marginal -- don't order the banana bread.

Felt like home, very relaxing. Not Disneyish and artificial but real. Very clean and well kept up. Great service and location. Wish I could stay longer.
