Due to cold temperatures, the lock for the door didn't work well, but because this hotel is in Vermont, doors that open to the outside using a magnetic key are not a good idea. We had to go to the front desk 2 times after checking in because we couldn't get the door to our room open. The lobby smelled like cigarettes. The desk clerk was away from the desk for long periods - we had to call the front desk on our cell phone in order to reach him. The heating system was poor. The water pressure was inversely proportional to temperature - more pressure with cold water, less pressure with hot water. The breakfast was so poor we ate elsewhere - we couldn't find utensils or cups for hot coffee, and the only hot option was to make a waffle on the one machine there. The best part about our stay was the Mexican restaurant across the street that we could walk to for dinner, and it was not connected to the hotel in any way.
