Very nice hotel. The front line service is very good except that I heard some staff group together once, chatting and mentioning a word "Chinese" then laughed. This made me feeling very uncomfortable as I am a Chinese. The space of room is acceptable but doesn't have bath tub or view. It is not a matter to me anyway as I use only shower. The location is good. Very near to Central area. The environment of restaurant looks good but we have not tried the food.
Et ualmindelig dejligt ophold. Rigtig god service og de er altid klar til at hjælpe med det hele. Stedet er flot, rent og klassisk. Lækker morgenbuffet med venligt personale. Kommer gerne igen.

Superb Hospitality
Stay was amazing. Responding to Hotels.com survey after check in I commented that my room was very noisy as it fronted a street along the canal. Within a short time the duty customer service manager ( Mickey) contacted me and offered me an excellent alternative room on a higher floor that also had double glazing so achieving huge noise reduction. This understanding response was typical of the superb customer service in this hotel. As an owner of multiple businesses myself I am almost incredulous at the level of customer focus at this property. Friendly courtesy and attentiveness that didn’t miss a beat from a single member of a huge staff is an achievement to behold. Both restaurants were excellent and some noisy rooms apart ( perhaps unavoidable in bustling central Amsterdam) the physical features of the property are fabulous. Thankyou Sofitel Amsterdam.

Schönes Hotel mit herausragendem Personal
Sehr zentral gelegen, absolut zuvorkommendes und sehr freundliches Personal. Ein ganz grosses Kompliment dem Team des Frühstücksbüffets!
Das Zimmer was gut aber nicht genug geheizt, das Bad ist nicht mehr das neueste aber beides ist sehr angenehm und grosszügig eingerichtet. Wenn möglich die Zimmer auf den Kanal meiden, da leider bis 3h nachts sehr laut von draussen. Ein schöner Aufenthalt alles in allem.

The hotel and its staff are excellent. The facilities could not be faulted.
A focus area for improvement would be around dining options. One of party has a vegetarian and gluten-free diet. The menu options between the restaurants and room service are not joined up. There were options on the room service menu that you could not get on the restaurant menu so the choice was really limiting. Also, not all staff were aware of the gluten free options available so we got different messages on different nights. A kids menu might also be worthwhile looking at. My daughter had spaghetti Bolognese but its not on a menu, we had to ask if there were any kids options available.
Overall though, a great hotel, great staff, in a great location, in a great city.
Would stay again for sure.
