Our stay here was good, but not the quality or experience I would expect from a Doubletree Hotel; certainly would not pay upwards of $200 a night.
We were here for a family funeral. We had to wait for 1 1/2 hrs to get checked in which made us an hour late to our first family gathering. True, in all fairness our "official" check-in time was 4:00, but we have never had an issue checking in an hour early anywhere else on a non-holiday weekend. On top of that, they at first tried to check us into a lower-grade room, instead of the room we had reserved with a balcony.
We also thought we were getting a room in the tall tower. Instead, we were booked into the two-story much older building that did not have an elevator. So just verify that if that is an issue for you.
The cafe was under renovation and not open for breakfast. The only other option being a $25pp buffet - another inconvenience.
On top of that, there was repaving going on of every major road leading to the hotel which created a huge backup and made travelling to and from the hotel a nightmare. Not the hotel's fault, just be forewarned until that work is completed.
Outside of that, the room, bed and balcony were comfortable and clean. The hotel staff were courteous and responsive. Probably won't stay here again though in the future.
