The room was small and furnished with very old furniture. The carpet was dusty and worn. When we checked in, the in-room coffee station still had used filters left by previous guests, which was quite off-putting. The hotel seems to be built out of wood and styrofoam – we could clearly hear every step from the guests above us, with the floorboards creaking loudly all night.
There was hair in the shower drain upon arrival, and no warm blanket was provided – only a throw that clearly doesn't get washed between guests. When we asked the front desk for a proper blanket, they brought us another identical throw.
There’s no 24/7 access to water, tea, or coffee. In the evening, we had to go to the restaurant and pay $2.50 per cup of tea. Public transportation to Boston is not convenient. You have to walk 25 minutes to the train station, and the train runs only a few times a day. The trip to Boston can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.
Breakfast was mediocre with very limited options, though some hot items were available. Unfortunately, all dishes and utensils were plastic, which is not environmentally friendly.
The only positives were the air conditioning in the room and the lake view – but only if you book a lake-facing room.
