Baseball Trip

First off, this was a father/son baseball trip to see a couple of games at Kauffman Stadium, and the hotel was just a 15 minute walk to the stadium. Which was the main selling point in selecting the hotel. The staff, particularly Lucky and Victoria, were very friendly and wonderful to deal with. However, that is really all that I have that's positive about the hotel. The fan on the air conditioner in the room didn't work correctly, so the room was very warm. Lucky brought us a box fan and placed it on the air unit, but the room never was below 71 and stayed around 73. So we had to listen to a box fan blow during our entire 3 days just to make the room tolerable. The towels were small, thin, and very rough. The wi-fi was inconsistent and unreliable, we finally just quit trying to use it. The television only had limited channels (maybe 15 total and no sports or movie channels) and you have to enter the number for each channel you want to watch, instead of using the up and down arrows. Make sure they supply you with a list of channels on check-in to avoid the added frustration. To sum it up, if you're staying one night to catch a game in Kansas City, it's an ok hotel. However, if you're planning on an extended stay, I'd recommend to keep looking for another hotel.

Nonfunctioning Pool - should state before booking

Hotel was fine, clean and upgraded. However, we booked for the outdoor pool which was stated to be closed because of "inclement weather," but the pool was nonfunctioning. The description of the hotel should say that there is not an outdoor pool.

I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. I was charged for my deposit because they state the sheets were stained. We went to the room, slept, and left we did not stain any sheets. Ashley at the front desk talked to me like I was gross, and was extremely rude. Yes I’m a disgruntled customer but if you don’t know how to handle those type of customers don’t work in customer service. I asked for a number to follow up on my complaint after she said she would pass my info along to someone and she said she doesn’t have one she can give me. I do not recommend this hotel, at all!

Lobby was nice, although rather cold. It was 65 degrees in our room. We turned up the thermostat to 72 and left to get a bite to eat. It was still 65 in there when we got back. We went to the lobby and the gal said it was centalized a/c. She finally said she would move us to different room. It was 72 in the room. It's just an old holtel that needs updating. It's just not appealing. Should have listened to the other reviews.

Good but not great

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The exterior is a little off-putting, but the interior is clean and in pretty good repair. We booked a double queen room, but the bed definitely felt smaller than that. The mattresses were not the worst I'd ever slept on, but they were certainly not the best either. The hotel was completely booked on our first night and every door close was heard loud and clear. On night two or was much less busy and the noise was not an issue. Breakfast was different on both mornings, I am not sure if this was something that was communicated ahead of time, of of the capacity dictated the menu. Overall it was worth being within walking distance to the stadium.

The hotel was clean and the room was actually, surprizingly nice for the price. BUT....a free breakfast is stretching it a little. Breakfast contisted of Uncrustables on ice and Jimmy Dean sauge biscuits, also on ice. Coffee and juice. That's pretty much it.

Close to the Royals

Very impressed on how nice it was even though older hotel. Nice and close to Kauffman stadium. Was a little bit annoyed with the deposit of $150. Not everyone can afford to have $150 out of their account on top of the pretty high hotel rate. Unfortunately the AC was broken in our room, however the hotel was full so didn't even try and change rooms. Will stay again.
