We used to stay at Hotel Saskatchewan for every football game but had become frustrated with parking and room price increases. The staff is always super great and friendly. The hotel is showing some bumps and bruises which would be fine if the room wasn’t $300 a night for a regular king bed plus $20 parking. We knew we may not have a room ready by their regular check in time as we had been emailed ahead that they were expecting to be busy. We did receive a free drink ticket, but had no time to use it as we couldn’t wait around before the game. I received a call at 5:30 that our room was ready when check in time is supposed to be 3:00, again that’s pretty late for a room you’re paying a premium for. We returned after the game to no parking again, ended up in the lot across the street and called to make sure we were ok to park there. We were told it was ok and to have them remove our plates from our booking so they wouldn’t charge us for parking as it wasn’t their lot. We did that when we went in and collected our room keys. Unfortunately we were still charged the $20 for parking. Overall there are not a lot of upscale places in Regina to stay so they get away with their costs but we will go back to regular rooms in the city once again as it just isn’t worth the price in our opinion especially after staying numerous times at the James Hotel in Saskatoon. Again staff is always great, beds are fine, bathrooms are tiny rooms are clean, just not special enough for the price.
