We booked our trip through Hotels.com & paid for our room ahead of time. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were informed there was a $150 hold for incidentals the hotel needed to run on a card. We were not informed of this ahead of time, and had not made the necessary financial arrangements to be prepared for that. We were able to move some things around and make things work, but it was a very stressful and upsetting start to our trip.
We also selected this hotel specifically because we wanted access to a pool. Upon arrival, we were informed the pool was closed for maintenance and would not be available for use. There was no notice on the website about that.
The hotel itself was pretty average; no major amenities or extras. However, the bed was incredibly comfortable! And the staff was absolutely amazing. They were extremely apologetic about the lack of information and the pool being unavailable. They cut our incidental hold down to $75 for us, and they refunded us a night's stay for the pool inconvenience. They were incredibly understanding and supportive, which made the stay worthwhile.
