This was a one day stay to celebrate a birthday. We have visited this property three times since 2010. The staff is always friendly, the rooms are always clean, and we love the balconies, which are great for enjoying a glass of champagne and watching the sunset. It's not glamorous, it's a little kitchy, and it's perfect. It's also a lot less expensive than properties closer to the beach. While the surrounding neighborhood isn't the sexiest part of the city, it's easy to get practically anywhere from this location.
The property is old and in some ways shows its age, but the recent renovations have look great. The room was basic, but clean and new, and the balcony was spacious. I miss the old teal railings, but the pink facade remains and the building stands out as it always has. If you are a traveller that doesn't need much but a clean room, comfortable bed, and a hot shower, this is perfect. We also enjoy the fact that the property is located between the beach district to the west, and the restaurants to the east. The new wine bar across the street was terrific too!
Manny was gracious and welcoming and our check in/out was a breeze.
We'll be back. It's a tradition.
