The cost f the rooms were too high for what we received. They advertise a pool but it’s been out of use for a long time. The room smelled like dog and bathroom was not cleaned. The whole place is dated.

Black mold and lack of security

I check in with Ann who tells me she doesn’t have my reservation because I booked through “Hotels.com” Ann then proceeds to yell in the back. Demanding I show my reservation which I did. She then “finds” a room for me but took 30 minutes. The side door doesn’t even have a door latch let alone ANY security to keep people out. I get to the room the refrigerator has black mold growing inside. The hotel has an unpleasant smell. The bed is “adequate” pillows are awful and the blanket thin and crusty. I didn’t use. I tried the “free breakfast” but the day old bread and hard bagels were unacceptable and they had watery instant eggs. The next morning I go speak the manager Kherson Sarvela and she tells me this is all my fault for booking through Hotels.com. When I told her Ann was speaking to me she informed me that since she wasn’t saying it to my face it’s acceptable. I had to be a work event and already paid so I stayed. The 2nd morning I get up and open the curtain and step in a PUDDLE of water ON THE CARPET ; The AC unit was leaking. When I go and tell the hotel clerk he tells me that happens. I said it’s a lot of water on the carpet (thinking this might be why I was coughing - I’m allergic to MOLD) he informs me it’s not his job. He works really hard being a front desk clerk and I can leave and never come back. The smell of people smoking marijuana INSIDE the building is everywhere especially at the front desk. Be safe! Don’t stay here!

Can't get in!!!

I stayed here with my son and mother in a king suite. I have never had a worse stay. Our key cards did not work the whole time we were there. Every time we needed to be let in the hotel person had to come let us in and even than they fought with our door, and she treated us like it was a burden, but they never offered us another room. On top of that the pool was closed, come to find out it was closed for about 10 years. I paid room stay that included a pool. Me and my son brought our suits and prepared to swim, so we were disappointed. Our toilet ran constantly and leaked water. We couldn't flush the toilet unless we took the tank top off and shut the rubber valve. The room smelled awful, like cigarette smoke or something coming thru the vents and the customer service was rude. They completely ignored me when i made a comment about the toilet.This was the worse stay i ever had.

The property is fine for the price and overall, I was pretty comfortable. Things are certainly outdated and could use some love but it was overall clean and a pleasant stay. Check in was strange and the woman helping us was a bit rude and gaslighting everyone that checked in because of their booking system. For example, I changed my booking through Expedia a few days before and because Expedia didn't communicate that with them, she said made me feel like I was in the wrong. Further, my family member booked online, too, and whoever they booked through, messed up their reservation as well. She also made them feel like it was their fault (and mentioned how much money they actually get from that booking.) I told her it would probably clear a lot of this up if they just had their own website.

Small issue

We reserved two rooms for four people, but when we arrived to Hotel, front desk person told us that they received data from Hotels.com about reservation of one room only. I got confirmation by email from Hotels.com that two rooms are reserved. But Moose Lake Lodge and Suites front desk person insisted that it is chronic problem for them with Hotels.com. Big surprise- we never had issues with Hotels.com. Eventually we got two rooms.

When we arrived my Expedia account was under my exs last name and after explaing that to him he said I hope you arent lying to me.It was rude. We got to our room and he said the key card may not work. During our visit we had to have someone let us in our room everytime. Then the flapper on the toilet didnt work so we left the lid off so we could shut it off each time we used it. It was so close to our destination, but, I would drive the extra 20 miles to stay somewhere else.
