When we pulled up to this hotel, there was literally smoke billowing out the back end of it and emergency responder vehicles all over the parking lot. Turns out a dumpster was on fire, not the actual hotel. We were allowed to check in at 12:30. The front desk attendant was very friendly and mentioned reading the notes I made on the reservation. Our king suite room was very small with very little walking space in the room. The sofa bed, which I explained in the reservation we would need to use, was completely unable to be used because of metal springs popped out all over in the mattress, making it entirely uncomfortable for anyone in my family (because we all tried it to make do). When my husband went to the front desk to explain that the bed wasn’t usable, he was told there was nothing that could be done because we booked through hotels.com (I have booked all of our hotel stays for at least the last 15 years through Hotels.com, and we have never had a problem a hotel refused to fix because we booked through Hotels.com.). So after spending hundreds of dollars on our room, we went to Walmart and bought an inflatable mattress (more expense). After we had to set up the inflatable mattress, there was literally no space to walk. Was able to get 2 additional pillows and replace dirty towels as needed and quickly. Desk attendant asked at checkout how was my stay and made a note about the mattress but did not offer any compensation for the fact that we couldn’t use 1/2 beds in room.
