The outside of the hotel is ok. Walking in and to reception we started to get an air of faded gradiour. Quality tiles but a feeling of it all being rather tired. We made our way to room 27 and found this was down a side corridor. The room was adequate but again felt very tired. Tiny flat screen TV about 18"! Bathroom had some black mould in. Shower was an old electric one. Furniture dated.
Overall it just felt very 80's and needing to be smartened up. But it was adequate and the beds were comfy enough.
Breakfast was ok, nothing special, but again adequate. There was muesli, cornflakes. bran flakes and I think something else, jugs of orange and apple juice and a cooked option. The menu had kippers on it with a sticker over it, just indicative of the tired nature of the hotel.
This hotel needs bringing into the 21st century. I believe the current owner bought it 2-3 years ago but from what we saw hasn't invested in it. It's a shame as it could be much nicer, but probably needs a good but of investment in new bathrooms, decoration, carpets etc.
