Room was fine. Location was excellent and parking was great. We stayed here since we were attending the Va Tattoo. Since one of us was not very mobile, it was helpful to have a restaurant in the hotel for breakfast and one dinner. We stayed three nights during the recent 90+ degree heat wave and the AC struggled with it. WiFi did not seem great as connecting some devices was difficult or did not work. The biggest complaint was only partially the hotel's problem. At checkout time there were no luggage carts to be found and we had to wait a while before we were able to bring our stuff down from our room. The breakfast staff were friendly and helpful.

If this review was about the staff, it would be 5 stars. About the material condition of the hotel, it would be 1 star. The staff is exceptional, but the hotel has more problems than they can contend with. The location is really good, the bedding is very comfortable, and parking is less expensive than downtown, and relatively safe. The 1st room they gave us had broken air conditioning, with no hope of an easy repair. The 2nd room was a smaller room, with a broken safe, a broken room phone, and a running toilet. The breakfast was really good. Typical hotel rates for a drink in the bar...you know...same cost for 2 shots as for the whole bottle at the ABC store... Would I stay here again? I dunno. Location wise, parking wise, best in town. But all the broken items (plus 2 of the 4 elevators were broken) really lowers your review, and no amount of compensation (and we got plenty of compensation) will completely fill that disparity. If I returned to Norfolk to go to the Scope Center I would probably stay again, but this time, with my eyes wide open...

Clean room; Very accomodating staff - we came in late and they were so kind. They also offered a microwave as we had a baby with us and needed to warm her bottles. They were very warm and friendly especially since it was over the Christmas holiday. Tracy & Shadreka in the 700 Bistro restaurant were very considerate and went above & beyond - even got me fresh lemon slices and honey for a sore throat. I am so grateful for the care and attention to detail including fresh fruit-infused water at the front desk. And the housekeeping staff was always cleaning up the lobby! Plus Ms Brenda at the desk was super informative (helped me to find restaurants that were open Christmas Day plus other relevant info). Really good stay; thank you!
