The hotel was in need of obvious repairs. The air vents near the elevator were filthy, floor baseboards were lying in the hallway making it an easy trip hazard, the baseboards in the rooms were unfinished. The exterior grounds were in need of better appearance (this should have been my first clue) There seemingly was not enough desk help at check in and check out. The housekeeping employee was tapping very aggressively on our door at 8:30 AM and again at 9:07 AM, then running the vacuum just outside our door. I had to use my personal phone to call the front desk because the phone in the room was disconnected. When asked why this was going on with an 11AM check out, it could not be explained. Our sleep was disrupted. The coffee maker did not work at all, we were directed to three different floors when asked for ice, even the front desk clerk did not know where the machines were located. This was a very disappointing experience. I we drove 4hr for a get-a-away only to have a below average experience. I could not believe Holiday Inn had allowed their repetition to drop so low. We should be reimbursed.
