No regresaría

A nuestro ingreso el baño no servía (único en la habitación). Avisamos y nunca nos lo arreglaron tampoco se comunicaron o dieron seguimiento. La comida y servicio fue muy malo. Los dos hombres en recepción amables. Tienen una GRAN playa desaprovechada, poco limpia y sin servicio que permita disfrutar la estancia.

Amazing stay at Puerta Azul

Our stay was amazing. The hotel is well located, breakfast is at the beach, it has everything needed - a decent walk to the downtown area but the island is very safe, with friendly locals who are very gracious and helpful. I’ll return to this hotel for sure!

Not really worth your money

While the room is very nice and clean, the hotel did overall not feel worth the money. Firstly, it is not a true adults only hotel. One part of the hotel (the villa) does allow kids. The beach is definitely not the best part of Holbox. (quite narrow and the water is muddier). Also, there is construction debris in the water right in front of the hotel. The hotel‘s armchairs do not have any pillows and are therefore very uncomfortable.

I want to give this property a higher rating, but I just can't. For the room, staff, breakfast and property condition I'd give it 5 stars! All of that was wonderful. However, to call the hotel 'adults only' is not accurate. There was a family with 3 small children staying at the hotel. Plus the beach restaurant on the hotel property allows children to be at the restaurant meaning there were children running around all over the beach and using beach chairs all day long. If you're going to call the property adults Only- then you need to set policies around the hotel restaurant as well. We left to eat at other places because of how many children there were, when we would have gladly have eaten at the hotel. Another bad point of the hotel is that we chose it for being slightly away from town because we wanted a quiet relaxing experience. However, the hotel next door would loud bass thumping music from 3:30-11ish every day. And then sometimes the La Puerta Azul restaurant would have a DJ and the music would complete making it the least relaxing environment. So overall, I would not recommend this hotel despite some of it's great qualities.

The location is not bad but the receptionist and some staff was very rude and unfriendly. Restaurant doesn’t open until 9am even when they told us it would be open at 8am. Very inconvenient to have limited access to food or anything to drink before 9am or after 6:30pm. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Es sumamente limpio, no se si es nuevo o renovado pero es verdaderamente limpio, en perfecto estado, bastante luz en los espacios, frente al mar con sus camastros y sobre todo un lugar para disfrutar de paz y tranquilidad si es lo que estás buscando. We spent a week at this property. Unfortunately rained most of the days there, but in general the property is well located and safe. This property is closer to Playa Cocos and a good walk to the main city (15-20 mins walk). It is about an hour walking to Playa Mosquito. The property is rustic (plain and simple). No major amenities, except a pool in the middle of the property, and a tiki bar that it is open throughout the day until after sunset, where you can get drinks while at the beach. Front desk personnel were very informative, and helpful providing details about the area, the property, and the island in general. Our special thanks to Francisco, who was in charge of the breakfast area every single day, and to Manuel, who covered for him while he was on days off. Both guys are super. Breakfast choices very good, and delicious. We noticed that portions were a bit small, and no option to ask for more. All very much measured. Property is beachfront, but the "ocean view rooms" have limited view of the beach, and not a full clear view as other properties do have. Expect to see a couple of iguanas wondering around as part of the island/beach life. In general, a good place to stay.
