Very poor customer service here. Had a one night reservation made through Hotels.com. Checked in on the night I was supposed to arrive signed and paid for my one night reservation, checked out as scheduled. When I arrived home the next day I discovered I had been charged a second time for a second night, due to an error made by hotels.com. I called immediately upon discovering this error only to be told to got to hotels.com. The chatbots at hotels.com referred me back to the Village Inn. When I spoke to them a second time the clerk told me that the person who checked me in LIED and said they confirmed a second night. This is absolutely not true as i would have spoken up then. I signed for, was charged and paid for the one night I reserved, because of their antiquated systems I was not provided a receipt for my stay (so I can't disprove their claim with my bank) nor has the deposit been refunded. Both times I called staff was dismissive and rude.
Essentially I paid $600 for one night in a dirty room that smelled vaguely of smoke and mildew, had uncomfortable beds with not enough covers, paper thin walls, zero amenities. Quite frankly a terrible experience overall.
