This is our second stay here because it’s such fantastic base. The views are stunning from the bedroom window and also the restaurant. A great breakfast awaits in the morning. We will be back again next year on our way up to the Great North Run. This hotel is a real hidden gem.

The accommodation gave everything I needed for an overnight stay as a solo traveller on my motorcycle. The breakfast this morning was excellent one of the best I’ve ever had. All in all a good stay and would not hesitate to use it again.

This place had so much atmosphere. It’s an old coaching inn on the edge of the Moors with amazing views and a stunning road to drive to the inn. I’m we absolutely loved it. The staff and other patrons were fina be friendly. The bar and dining room were atmospheric and the views amazing.

Clean and tidy, plenty of food choices and lots of it. Prices were pub prices and they catered for children's meals and had doggy treats. Staff were really friendly and they were so helpful with their knowledge of the area. Quite remote but a beautiful part of the country. We only had a few days but a good venue for going touring round the area.

Room was clean and bed was comfy. Tea and coffee in the room was appreciated. Room was quiet but cold as window had been open and radiator didn't work. Heated towel rail in bathroom didn't work either but shower was warm and decent pressure. Bar downstairs looked really nice, I wish we would have time to stay longer and visit.

What a lovely gem of a place. Situated in the heart of the north Yorkshire Moors. Amazing views over the valley. Staff were very friendly and the food was lovely. The only criticism I could make was that the floorboards were creaky, but that’s because the property is 300 years old and has real character. Highly recommended.

It’s a lovely old building with a good sized room and a comfy bed. The bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen! But it functioned! There is a lovely view and a lovely and lively pub, helpful and friendly staff and a solid breakfast. We would stay again.

Gorgeous location. Big room with comfy bed and good bathroom. Cosy bar and we enjoyed a lovely meal. Nice walk into the tiny village for cafe and another pub. Good value. If you’re not a dog person it’s worth noting there were a lot of guests with dogs.
