I didn't think the bugs would bother me in the tent, but i must admit sleeping with a constant flow of ants in the bed was too much. I think it was a little over priced but the family enjoyed it and we all liked the staff.

The Rustic Rook Resort is a fabulous new addition to the Yurt/Bin wave of alternative to hotel stays. It is just a few miles from the Great Sand Dunes National Park that is simply awe inspiring and has fabulous sledding on the Dunes for the entire family. Excellent dining is about 20 minutes away in downtown Alamosa. The stars at night are incredible. We stayed in a Bin, which was less rustic than the name would imply. It was perfect for my husband and I, and our dog. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

The Rustic Rook Resort is a hidden gem! From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming staff made us feel right at home. The tents are cozy, well-maintained, and perfectly blend of rustic charm. The serene surroundings and breathtaking views make it a perfect getaway for relaxation. Whether you're exploring the beautiful nature or just unwinding by the fire pit, every moment feels special. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating retreat!

Staying out on the sandy sagebrush plain looking out to the dunes, miles away, was awesome! Unique environment, clean, well maintained tents, friendly canines in lobby, helpful advice, ability to grill—all great! Thank you!

This property exceeded all our expectations. The tent was a great size for two people and the bed was so comfy! The workers were so lovely and have a bonfire each night with s'mores and hot chocolate. The weather wasn’t great while we were there (incredibly windy and pouring rain through the night) the tent felt completely safe and sturdy.

Beautiful views ! Tents could be in better condition as well as the bedding . We have stayed at similar tented camps and for the price the amenities are lacking . Some unwanted bed guests .Zipper on my tent was broken but was fixed after we checked in . Tents very close together. We had some noisy neighbors . Don’t arrive before 3 . No one is there to help before . We arrived at 2:45 .

Not to miss sunsets and sunrises in the valley that you only find when camping here! And being a dark sky park allows the stars to dazzle you at night. Great accommodations and location. The staff is super nice. Only downside is how close the tents are. We came on a holiday weekend and the place was full. Lots and lots of kids running screaming, which made it not so restful for us quiet types. But all of the views made up for the bad people experience.

It advertised as "glamping" and "homesteading" experience. I live in an RV and I travel to explore to experience things. The wood stove in the tent was just for a fire when its cold, only. I was given a battery pack that powerd the tinest fan that I have ever seen and a small lantern. I was told that there was no eating in the tents and community grills and tables are on the other side of the camp. I packed for cooking on my woodstove and having some sort of power source. It is a neat place and I just think that I would have had a better time if I wasn't expecting it to have glamping or homesteading elements to it and instead the dry camping that it actually is. Clean. Nice staff. Great dark skies!

So so experience.

We stayed in a camper cabin. First night not so great, had issues with water connection to trailer so no water in camper. Had to use public restroom/showers which were tight quarters. Water was kind of grungy. Second night was better so we could use bathroom and sink in camper. Ok experience overall since we met up with the grand kids and had fun with them.

Unique and fun glamping experience

This is a “glamping” experience not a traditional hotel, so understand that you are in a tent and there are bugs and natural sounds and fellow campers. The property has a beautiful view of Great Sand Dunes National Park and the surrounding mountains. The staff are warm and friendly and make the stay very easy and fun. We had some summer thunderstorms pass through in the night but were cozy and comfortable in our tent, which included wooden floors, 3 single beds, 2 chairs and a stove. We were provided lanterns and usb chargers. Unique family experience that made our national park vacation very special.

8/10 Very good

We stayed at the Rustic Rook due to the proximity to Great Sand Dunes NP. It was extremely quiet, as it was during the week just after labor day -- only one other tent was occupied, which made it relaxing but also a little scary! We stopped in Alamosa for some easy dinner options, but the other couple staying at the time took advantage of the resorts option to have dinner items to grill. It was VERY windy and it rained off an on but the tents stayed dry inside and warm with the wood-burning stove. It was nice to have the provide power banks for our phone and the lanterns to get to the restrooms and main building/fire pit after dark. Other than hearing coyotes yipping close by at 1 am (!!!) and being unable to see stars due to the rainy weather, it was a fairly successful glamping experience

Great experience

Very nice set up. We stayed in one of the estate tents so we had our own shower and bathroom. Bed was extremely comfy! Wish I would have had another pillow though. Used the camp stove for heat at night and it was great. Didn't need any additional wood. Used our grill for dinner and enjoyed the complimentary breakfast burritos and coffee! Keep in mind it is camping and there were critters and bugs outside, but if you keep you food etc outside, you will not be bothered by them in your tent at night. Was a peaceful night and we were able to get plenty of sleep.
