Our room was newly renovated and was attractive and clean. Landscaping outside was attractive and well kept. However, despite having been recently renovated, it had a piece broken in the closet where the rack had pulled out from the wall. The iron was broken and dirty. This is one of the few casino hotels I’ve been at that smelled good, despite allowing smoking, I only caught a few whiffs of the smell of smoke. The pictures online are misleading because while you can see water (from our room on the 27th floor!), it is not on the beach or close to the
Gulf and the view from our room consisted of a dirt parking lot, a pawn shop, and the highway/interstate in the distance. That was disappointing. The pool looked nice but I was unable to enjoy it due to lightening in the area throughout our stay. While waiting for the pool to open, I sat in the pool bar and conversed with a nice couple. Overall, other than the bartender in the pool bar and one of the lifeguards (a 17 year old girl), the workers were not friendly. I gathered from a couple of workers n the elevators that it wasn’t a good work environment and workers had to walk a long way to their parking areas across the street and on the garage roof. My other encounters with staff were at best, polite, but definitely not friendly or helpful. I’d rather stay in an older property with friendly environment than here.
