Old hotel in need of major renovations. Dry rot on exteriors and signs of water damage interior. Two major stairways need to be climbed, first to the front desk and next to get to the rooms. There is a million dollar view of Fourth Lake but that's it. Staff of 2 and a manager were pleasant. They had buffet breakfast but put out the same food each of our 3 day stay so it was stale. Hotels.com says there is one room available but we were the only 2 occupied rooms in the whole place.

The location really makes the property. Incredible lakefront on Forth Lake. It’s an older building so no refrigerator or microwave in your room limited air-conditioning. Fans were provided. The lake breeze really made it pleasant. I had dinner two nights on the porch. The food was fabulous.

Great location and professional staff

We had a great stay between Christmas and New Years. The staff was professional and helpful. We had a nice view of the lake from the room and the bed was comfortable and the room was big enough for two adults. The Woods Inn is a great location for visiting the Adirondacks.
