Arrived late and found in the morning our ‘Park View’ room was a view of a fence and a bush. Then we went for breakfast….. it was what I expect in a youth hostel with Covid 19 restrictions still in force, it was dire, everything is throw away, utterly environmentally unfriendly! The omelettes were so processed & out of a packet. The coffee was pretty unpleasant & the sign for breakfast was tacky & old. We did query the room & a discount for our next stay was offered along with a $20 reduction. Appreciated but we’re from oversea so won’t be around to use the discount.

We were somewhat disappointed that there was a lot of noise after the 11:00 quiet time. This was reported and it was suggested to us that " let security know next time". We were very disappointed in the breakfast situation-not enough tables and chairs and we had to wait for some items to be replenished

Terrible service

I reserved my stay with a card I use for internet . When I got there I asked to use my regular card for points. They put a hold of on each card. I went to the desk three times and informed them that there was a problem and they said don’t worry it will drop off. It did not and they charged me on both cards for the first night. I spoke to “service manager “ and she told me I had reserved 2 rooms, one on each card. I did not. I believe this was an error on the hotel’s part. She referred me to the manager’s email and I have yet to hear from them. The pool was closed for 2 days and no effort to compensate in any way. I believe you should drop them from your approved sites.

This was an adjoining room. Loud noises could be heard through the adjoining doors. We asked for a different room but none available. We could also smell cigarette smells from previous guests.

A very disappointing and stressful stay

I initially had such a good experience that I extended my stay. I called the front desk and was told I could switch to a new room on the 6th floor. Staff was kind to try to make my stay enjoyable. However the next morning, another staff member said no room was assigned to me. I had already packed and cleared out, only to be told to go back and wait. I explained I had an important online meeting and couldn’t move mid-session. I was reassured that I could stay in my original room until I finish my meeting at 1pm. I rushed to reset for my meeting, but at 12:30pm, despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign, cleaning staff knocked repeatedly until I answered. It was unprofessional and disruptive. As I was leaving by 1pm, a cleaning staff stopped me and began questioning me agressively about the late check out and room change. I explained everything had been arranged with front desk, but she continued pressing me, followed me into the elevator, and to the lobby. She wanted to make sure I didn’t get away with ‘overstaying my welcome’. Her tone & attitude were intrusive and humiliating. This was disappointing because most staff were kind and helpful. The morning staff member did also anpologize and tried to fix things. I’d still hoped to leave a good review but this encounter with the cleaning lady left me feeling unvalued. Cleaning staff should communicate with front desk before confronting guests. I hope management addresses this to ensure all guests are treated with respect.

The view of the park and the lake from the hotel is very beautiful. The hotel is conveniently located in the lakeshore and close to a lot of restaurants, park, and in the downtown area. The room was comfortable and clean. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The downside was the parking in the hotel that was very full and luckily, we found one available spot, but we almost were not able to park near the hotel. The pool was okay. The water in the pool was cold. We thought it was heated. The breakfast was okay. It could have been better. The hotel is located downtown Burlington and it was the weekend, so the traffic to get in and out the hotel was jammed. But it was worthed for the views and for it to be waterfront. Overall, we had a good stay at this hotel.

Stay out of the deep end
