Warm welcome and my boys really loved the drinks and chocolate left for them in our room. Great having access to the pool/spa, lovely grounds and good food in the bar. Breakfast was also good, although the kitchen were stretched trying to keep pace with demand for hot breakfast items from guests at the previous day's wedding! We'll be staying there again!

A good hotel for a short stay. Close to beautiful Shrewsbury. Excellent and friendly staff. Good standard of facilities including swimming pool. Nice, clean and spacious room. Lovely breakfast. One mark off the five star due to poor water pressure in the shower. But I liked this hotel very much and would recommend it.

I'm sure the hotel is lovely. As the location and the building is stunning. However I had zero sleep the room was extremely hot the fan was broken and clicking all night and not powerful enough to keep the room cool. I think they could helped things by drawing the curtains in the rooms were guests are staying so it does not get so hot. I understand it was the weather too, but I've paid to sleep in a hotel that was so hot and no working fan.

Stunning property. Staff very welcoming but simply not enough available to cope with the volume of booked guests. This had a knock on effect at dinner and breakfast with choices available, food quality and wait times. Beautiful room booked, well appointed and clean within the eves of the building, but sadly no a/c in this type of property on what was a really warm night and this made for an unlucky nights rest. Low shower water pressure also probably accounted for staying in a high room in a really old building.

The room was fine a little tired with small scuffs on the wall but nothing major. The service from the reception was very good we requested a travel cot and it was delivered to our room within a few minutes. The breakfast was tasty with a good choice from a full English to fresh fruit. Where the hotel needs to improve is the spa, the hot tub, one of the saunas and the ice room were out of order. The pool was full of sand or grit on the bottom. The gents showers had bits of mold growing on the walls and around the soap dispenser aswell as the steam room tiles and light fittings. I would stay again i just wouldn't use the spa facilities unless they get refreshed like the gym recently has.

We had a standard room and it was all clean and tidy. The wardrobe door was broken and was difficult to use but it didn’t matter to me. The only surprising thing was we didn’t have a mini bar. When we asked about it, they said they don’t provide it for standard room users. This is a 4 star hotel, so it was quite a shock as all hotels have this basic good in their rooms normally.
