I would like to share my recent experience during my stay at Corus Hotel Hyde Park, which, unfortunately, did not meet my expectations or the standards one would expect from a hotel of this rating.
Upon arrival, I was surprised to find that there was no porter service available. I had to repeatedly ask—and even plead—for help with carrying my luggage to the room. This was very disappointing and not what I would expect from a hotel of this category.
Once I entered the room, I found it to be unclean, with visible cobwebs in different areas. I documented this with photos. I reported the issue to the reception, and one of the staff came with me to inspect the room.
Frankly, it felt as though I was being questioned or treated as if I were not telling the truth, which I found upsetting and unprofessional.
I was moved to another room, but the air conditioning was not working there either. When I raised the issue with the receptionist, she was very rude, raised her voice, and kept interrupting me while I was trying to explain the situation. Her attitude was unacceptable and lacked basic courtesy and professionalism.
Later, during the night shift around 5:00 AM, I called the reception again and spoke with a different staff member, who was much more polite and helpful. He moved me to another room where the air conditioning was finally working properly — something I expected from the beginning.
