Nuestra llegada al hotel fue antes del check in y queríamos aprovechar el tiempo al máximo, cuando nos acercamos a la recepción para solicitar informes de los tours que podíamos hacer a esa hora, el personal era muy tajante en que necesitaba que estuviéramos todos los huéspedes para dar cualquier tipo de información. Ya que revisaron que efectivamente teníamos reservación con ellos, le insistimos en que solo necesitábamos informes de los tours para aprovechar el día y para cualquier pregunta que le hiciéramos quería que estuviéramos todos que por que el “no iba a repetir las instrucciones más de una vez” (literalmente nos dijo así) de una manera muy grosera. Después nos atendió Luis y fue muy amable y servicial, salvando nuestra estancia en ese hotel que ya estábamos arrepentidos por el mal trato que habíamos recibido. Y por la noche nos atendió Alan quien se portó maravillosamente!!!!! La vista del restaurante es increíble!!!!! Lo único malo es que en la carta no había muchas opciones para personas vegetarianas (en nuestro viaje de 7 personas, 2 de ellas son vegetarianas), así que tuvimos que comer en un restaurante fuera del hotel.

Amazing! Perfect!

Everything was amazing. I’m so glad we stayed here. Every single staff person was so kind, helpful, caring and awesome!!! The pool was so beautiful! We loved our stay!!! We loved the view! The room was beautiful. The breakfast was nice. The ground were lovely. No complaints! Oskar, Luis, and Paola were fantastic and truly the whole staff was amazing.

Stunning hotel!!

Had a great time at the hotel. You really don’t need to go to Manuel Antonio park as you can see macaus, parrots, humming birds,sloths, Tucans around the hotel it self. Beautiful sunrise and sunsets by the pool. One of the best hotels we stayed in. Will come back for sure. Great for families.

Gorgeous views, but ...

Positives: the views, the views, the views! Breakfast selections and service were excellent. Loved that breakfast was included. Lunch and drink selections were great. Enjoyed the pools and location. Negatives: The furniture in our room was very uncomfortable...bed was extremely from and had a wide wooden frame around the mattress which made it difficult to get in and out, futon/couch was overly soft and hard to get out of, chairs both in the room and on the balcony were inexpensive plastic chairs and not what we expected for the cost. Towels were clean but well worn. One hand towel and no washcloths provided in room. Our garden view included a view of the roof and backyard of another residence...which was fine but the pictures were deceiving making it seem much more private.

Beautiful place. People were wonderful. Pricing for food and drinks expensive, but seems to be the case in CR. Wish they better lighting in bath and makeup mirror. Glad I brought one.

Amazing views. Restaurant and staff were great. The property has been around for years and is well Maintained. Landscape is beautiful. The restaurant view are amazing. Food is great. The rooms are very big with kitchenette- great for families. The staff is lovely kind and helpful.

We stayed at the La Mariposa corner sunset room for 3 days. The wraparound balcony is of course the highlight of our stay here. Everyday we woke up by around 5am to hear the howler monkeys and see the sunrise while sipping a cup of coffee. As the day went by with many activities around Manuel Antonio, we made sure to be back to our room by 4pm. We figured that was the prime time to start watching birds fly back to their nests. We were lucky to see so many scarlet macaws, toucans, hawks, green parrots, and so many other varieties of birds right from our balcony! And then the sunset would invariably paint the sky with the most beautiful shades of red and orange. Being high up in our 4th floor room we had almost a 200 degree view of the Manuel Antonio beach, the ocean, and the surrounding forest. We also enjoyed very good spreads of breakfast everyday, interactions with helpful staff members, and other amenities that the resort provides. The hotel grounds are also very well maintained with lush landscaping that blends into the natural surroundings. This is a must stay place while at Manuel Antonio.

Excellent hotel, perhaps the best you could find in the area. The room was exactly as described, breakfast and dinner were exceptional and the view from the restaurant terrace (and our room) was to die for! Very clean and beautiful property with beautiful landscape and views. A few scarlet macaws were flying around every morning and were a delight to observe. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Sunsets, Out-dated Hotel

The hotel lobby gives off a great first impression, but unfortunately, the rooms don’t live up to the photos. They’re in dire need of an upgrade, and the towels in the room felt very worn—possibly the same ones used at the pool. Service was mediocre at best; it’s clear that exceptional hospitality isn’t a priority here. We previously stayed at a mid-tier hotel in La Fortuna, and the difference was striking. Perhaps that raised our expectations too high for La Mariposa, but ultimately, it didn’t measure up. For example, on our first day, we waited over 30 minutes for a drink at an empty bar. On the second day, I ordered ice to the room around 5 PM. After an hour of waiting, I had to call back, only to be told it was on its way—it seems they had forgotten altogether. For the price, I’d recommend exploring other options.

Scarlet Mccaws in the tree not far from the balcony. So pretty in flight., Monkeys around the area were fun to watch, amazing food at the La Papillon restaurant for dinner. Infinity pool was nice. Elevator for us with climbing stairs issues. Breakfast each day was on a patio overlooking the ocean

The views from hotel are just breathtaking. From the breakfast area to the pool or the rooms. I was lucky to experience wildlife as I was enjoying my breakfast and the severed even came to show me where a sloth was. Centrally located around stores and restaurants, they offer a shuttle service to the beach with schedule times. The hotel staff is excellent, they all make you feel welcome and happy to help. To the hotel itself my only complain is the beds are extremely firm ( too much) I did asked the front desk if they had more bedding options or a least a foam I could put on top. They tried their best with what they had on hand.
