This lovely inn is in a fabulous location. Hidden off the Main Street, yet an easy stroll to all the shops and restaurants. Our room was large and extremely comfortable. (The Thyme room in the cottage). Every morning we had a fabulous breakfast served in a beautiful room full of sunshine from all the windows. Our server, Phoebe, was a delight and very attentive. I would recommend this property if you are going to Bar Harbor.

A Perfect Stay in Bar Harbor!

We had an incredible 4-night stay at this very charming Victorian bed and breakfast in Bar Harbor. The location couldn’t be better—just steps from the ocean, downtown shopping, restaurants, bars and near Acadia National Park. It is perfect for leisurely walks and taking in the stunning coastal views. The hospitality was nothing short of exceptional, with Walker, the Inn Keeper, ensuring every guest felt at home and well cared for each day. Breakfast each morning was an absolute delight—wonderfully prepared, fresh, and incredibly delicious. Every afternoon, homemade cookies and decadent desserts were waiting for us, adding a warm and thoughtful touch to the experience. The house itself is beautifully decorated, filled with historic charm and character, providing a serene and cozy atmosphere that made our stay all the more memorable. If you’re looking for a place that combines impeccable service, mouthwatering food, and a gorgeous setting, this bed and breakfast is an absolute must!

Charming, beautiful, friendly staff

Charming, beautiful, romantic, clean, great service, lovely bed and breakfast Service was excellent from the friendly staff from the moment we arrived. Two charming old buildings. Loved the coffee/tea and sweet treats in the afternoon. Stayed in the Ullikana building. The only downside was first night where another couple who got up at 5:45 and made a lot of noise, especially with their suitcases, without considering the other guests in the hotel. Center location of Bar Harbor so we could to walk everywhere. If we come back to Bar Habor again, we will definitely stay at Bass Cottage & Ullikana

Room had an amazing view of the harbor and a sitting area with a gas fireplace. Was expecting a real fireplace but they only had gas. Our original room had to be changed due to no working fireplace and at this time of year that adds to the ambiance of the experience. Staff was accommodating and friendly.

This is the best hotel I stayed in during my trip on the East Coast. Walker and Whitney were wonderful. I felt so welcome and the atmosphere was friendly the entire time I was there. The property was beautiful, the rooms were perfectly clean and it was very quiet. On top of that the beds were super comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was wonderful. wish I could give them 10 stars!

A must see for a getaway

A beautiful Inn that is well Maintained with a lot of original stained glass. The room was perfect and the breakfasts were delicious. The location was a very short walk to downtown. Thank you Walker for you friendly assist.

Peaceful, charming, comfortable, clean … PERFECT!

Absolutely amazing. 10/10. We stayed in the Lilac room - the one with the raised ceiling on the third floor in the Ullikana house. The house was stunning. It felt like a step back in time in an English garden with the beautiful Tudor-style home. Our room was huge with lots of seating. The bathroom and shower were great. The bathroom mirror was perfect for someone maybe 5’8” … I was too short and my husband was too tall … but no points are being deducted because they had a handheld mirror in the bathroom and two other mirrors in the bedroom. The king bed was very comfortable. It was wonderfully peaceful and quiet. As we checked in, they were serving afternoon tea with a variety of homemade sweet treats in both houses. The breakfast was fantastic - a sweet option (bananas foster waffle) and a savory one (sausage and sweet pepper frittata) both served with hash browns and fresh fruit. While waiting for breakfast, they brought us each a piece of crumb cake. There are plenty of common seating areas in both homes with books and games available, plus backyard seating looking out over the water. I wish we stayed more than one night! If we are in the area again, there is no question that we would stay here again.

Beautiful place to stay. It is an old property that has been meticulously maintained. Walker was our "host" and was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice. The accommodations were located walking distance to shopping and harbor. The guest services were very nice with hot tea and coffee, ice and goodies for guests. It was an absolutely beautiful room and inn!
