I was looking for a bit of quiet, clean beds and bathrooms, and a good location. Below is what led me to give a 2 start overall rating.
Migrants/Homeless were living in a room next to our original room. At around 10PM we arrived back in our room, and it smelled like pot. We're on the 11th floor and I couldn't imagine that leaving the window open would cause that, but closed the w- indw. 2 hours later I woke up and it still smelled. And I woke up because the people next door (sounded like a woman and kids) were loud, then someone else came in and kept opening and closing the door. It sounded like a family squabble and so I finally went downstairs to complain. The person at the desk immediately gave us another room. He did not really want to know what was happening. He did, however, ask the security guard to go upstairs to find out what was going on. I walked by the security guard talking to the residents in the room, and it was not like a guest/concierge conversation at all.
The second night we woke up in our new room with loud music next door at 2:30 in the morning. They turned it on likely around that time! Who does that? I went to complain downstairs and they got them to turn it off.
This hotel does allow migrants/homeless to stay there as part of a city program.
I tried to get a refund, but only got $100 (we were there 5 nights).
Lastly, the air conditioners were loud! You had to have them on because the rooms are stuffy.
